A new chapter, told through film.

Jeannie Salo is the founder of Big Tent Energy, an independent media and public education platform exploring the forces transforming our economy, society and world.

Jeannie came to filmmaking and media from an unconventional direction. She spent more than two decades working at the intersection of government, business, energy, public policy and international affairs — experiences that increasingly convinced her that some of the most consequential changes taking place in the world are also among the least understood outside the institutions shaping them.

Her career has included work in the United States Senate and U.S. Department of State, leadership roles with global companies, and most recently serving as Chief Public Policy Officer for Schneider Electric North America. Today, she is also Founder and CEO of Salo Strategic Advisors, where she advises leaders navigating changes in energy, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, industrial policy and geopolitics.

Big Tent Energy represents a new chapter.

Rather than approaching these issues primarily from a boardroom or policy perspective, Jeannie is learning to tell their stories through documentary film, conversations and other forms of media. She brings to that work her experience with the issues, curiosity about the people living through them, and access to leaders and places that can help make complicated transformations tangible.

She is currently developing POWER, Big Tent Energy's first documentary series, examining how artificial intelligence and the infrastructure required to support it are creating cascading transformations across energy, manufacturing, national security, communities, policy and global competition.

Jeannie holds a master's degree from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She has also studied at INSEAD in France and the Moscow Linguistics Institute.
